Accord don't start
My girlfriend has a Honda Accord V6 2001, today she came home and 10 min later went back to turn on her car and the car doesn't start anymore. She told me that all the inside lights and radio are working but when she tried to start the car nothing happens, the car don't even make any sound is just dead, what that could be?
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.
Put a voltmeter across the actual battery posts (not the clamps, not the wires). What's the voltage? It should be about 12v or so. If the battery voltage drops a bunch when she TRIES to start, it's a bad battery. Otherwise, there's a bad connection somewhere.
Take a broom handle or something & give the starter a good whack while she tries to start it. If that makes the starter suddenly work, then it's a bad starter.
Look for loose, dirty, corroded connections at both ends of all the big battery cables. Also the big cables for grounding the engine to the car. (That one might be at one of the engine mounts??)
Disconnect the negative battery cable before you mess with the positive cable. That way you won't hurt anything when your wrench touches something.
