CA engine swap emission question

I live in california and am wondering if anybody knows what I would need to do so that I can register/smog a car with an engine swap.

if you do a swap you are suppose to go to the ref and have them do a visual and tailpipe test. if the car passes then you get a tag on the car that states it is compliant.
