Well we have enough threads for people who are going to be racing next weekend, I'm curious who is going to be there as a spectator. I don't anyone from H-T except WRXRacer111 and Brett@SoloRacer.com, so I'm curious to meet some of you guys, especially the ones who can help me learn the finer details of the Honda Challenge series (I've never been to a NASA event).

So who is going to be there, and what days? I was able to get out of working third shift on Friday night, so I plan on being there both days, probably getting to the track by 10:00-10:30ish for each day.

 

I'm flying from Cali. I leave Wed 18th at 2300hrs and arrive at Columbus on Thur 19th around 0900hrs. From there I'm gonna try to find White Castle and buy a bunch of food for Andy Hope and the rest of the team and hope to arrive at the track by noon. I'll be there everyday until Sunday. My return flight to Cali leaves Columbus on Mon 23rd at 0640hrs Ohio time and arrives at Cali at 0953hrs Pacific time.

I'll probably go cheap with the lodging and just drive back to the airport Sunday night to return the hire car. I'm hoping they'll let me sleep in the airport but this is my third time going on a plane and I don't know if the current security level allows people to sleep over at the airport!

Also, there's track activity on Friday too!

How much over crew do racers get? Thanks for the info on the tickets

 

For this event, racers only get one (1) crew pass, with other crew members having to pay weekend admission and then receiving "hot passes" from Mid-Ohio as long as they can show their NASA membership. The hot passes will get them anywhere they would need to go. If they are not NASA members, they will be given a "cold pass", which will get them access to everywhere except the pit lane and on track. Thank God for the NASA membership...hot pass for me...or I could just wear one of my "MID OHIO VOLUNTEER" shirts from when I worked there back in the day and get in for free. Thanks for the info

 

I'll be there running in HPDE/TT Sat and Sun. Can't wait to watch the race. I hope were not gridding right before or after the race so we can see the whole thing.

So pissed that this is my one weekend a month I have to work!!! Have fun guys. Hopefully lots of video and pictures will be taken.

 

I should be going. We'll have to see if I can talk anyone into going with me.

Actually, would anyone like an extra crew member? I'd be happy to help out, and I think it would be a great introduction to H-C for me. I hope to have my car ready and HPDE 1-3 completed by the start of next season.

 

I might stop by one of the days since I'm not going to be racing. Just have too much going on and too many layers of **** coming down recently to actually race.

I'll be there all day Saturday and Sunday, hopefully getting in before the H-C session Saturday morning. The KONI Service trailer is there right behind the Truechoice Building in the paddock so stop in and introduce yourself. If I am not there (in the trailer means not watching though), I'll be out and about walking around and talking with people.

If you see a big, gauteed guy with KONI attire, step up and say Hi. I won't be selling anything but will happily help with tuning or set-up stuff. Mid-Ohio is my favorite and home track so I'll happily share any info.

If you are looking for me, leave a message at the Truechoice Building as I check in there a lot.

That was last week and weekend. Was at M-O the weekend before that. Next weekend is at home, then South Carolina, then Topeka, Kansas, then Mid-Ohio the two following weekends and the week between. 'Tis the busy season for the shock guy. Most are at car events but unfortunately none with me driving in them.

 

I was wondering if any of you local Ohio guys can PM me your cell number and real name. I don't know anyone out there and it's reassuring if I have someone to call in case anything happens to me (getting lost, running out of gas, needing directions to White Castle, and any other unexpected problems).

I hope to meet some of you guys out there. Look for the picture taking ***** at different spots around the track or hanging out with Andy Hope and the gold CRX taking pics of anything and everything. If you're bringing girlfriends just let me know before hand because I don't want to get beat up for taking a pic of someone cute!

I'm not in ohio but lived 23 years of my life about 10 minutes away from Mid Ohio and worked (volunteered) there and my wife took the Mid Ohio driving experience there also, I will be there and I will PM you my cell and name. And considering I am only 25 I haven't forgotten too much about my home track.

 

Can someone post directions to the track from 76West?

The directions on Mid-Ohio's website are really poor.
