Default srs light trick not working

ok i did the 4 step trick about 15 times, and for some reason instead of my srs light flashing twice to let me know that it is reset, it flashes constantly till i turn the car off. I wait 10 seconds and start it, and it stays on, any help?

the step to reset the light will not get rid of the light if there's actually sometime is wrong(SRS system) with it.

yep, if there is still something wrong with the system then the light won't go out.

For example, someone said that if your airbags blow you need to replace both the airbags and the module. So, if the bags blow and you replace only the bags then your light won't out because you haven't replaced the module yet.

search for "SRS light" or "SRS reset" in the archives. I know I've posted the instructions a couple times as well as some other people.

actually, here you go. This is what I posted in another thread.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by TouringAccord &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">This is someones step-by-step that I saved a while ago. Can't remember who wrote it but here it is.

Erasing the DTC memory
1) Turn ignition switch off
2) Connect the scs service connector to the MES connector. Do not use a jumper wire
3) Turn ignition switch to on
4) The SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds, and then go off. Remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds after the light comes on
5) The SRS indicator will come on again. Reconnect the SCS service connector to the MES connector within 4 seconds after the light comes on.
6) When the SRS indicator light goes off, remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within 4 seconds.
7) The SRS indicator light will blink 2 times indicating that the memory has been erased
8)Turn the ignition switch to off and wait for 10 seconds.
I know what your thinking. WTF is the MES connector? Good question. Its up under the steering wheel. Above and behind the scan tool connector (where you jumper it to get CEL codes)

Hope this helps you.</TD></TR></TABLE>

edit:
here's the link I copied that from.

I don't know, maybe your just not getting a complete connection while doing the procedure. I heard they can be really fusy if you try doing it with a paper clip.

jump the service connector under the glove box and turn the key to on. count the blink pattern the srs light makes and call honda, or post it on here if anybody has a helms they'll tell you what the code means.

i thought mine just needed a reset and tried the "trick" about 10 times, finally pulled the code and turned out it was a faulty SRS control unit... cost to replace: $600. then i took the SRS light out of the dash and sold it to a private dealer.
