Default Need Help on Choosing Mufflers

I drive a 2002 accord 4cyl. I dont know what type of catback I want for my car. I don't want to spend like 400-600 dollars on a greddy or HKS. So I thinking of something cheap maybe under 230 dollars. I was thinking about universal mufflers. Anyone got any suggestions?

You're referring to an entire cat back exhaust system, not just a muffler. If you want the cheapest with the best quality, pm KTeller8 or visit his online store and i'm sure there's something good cookin on his stove...

not neccesarly true........

if you want quiet, Apexi WS 1 or 2....medium volume, gerddy sp1 or 2 / thermal R&D.....loud greddy evo 1/2 (not too loud), RSR Exmag GT-II....etc....

all will net you an additional 3-7whp (depending on where your talking about in the powerband), so its basically how much you wanna spend, what look muffler you want, and what volume your comfortable with

SS system from kteller + muffler will run you $300ish.......so if you can weld, or has a freind who can, you can save some SERIOUS $$$ over buying name brand

sorry guys, I should have been more specific. I'm looking only for a muffler, I don't want a whole system (but that magna flow system looks pretty sweet.) This is a daily driver, if I buy a muffler will it be a bolt on? or will I have to get a shop to weld a flange on it? Also, since I'm only using the stock connecting pipe how will it sound? Anyone got sound clips?

Thanks

You gotta weld it, and the sound depends on how well the work is done and the muffler itself.

yea its not always true,

but most people i noticed who first start out dont get a full catback, they just weld a noname on the tip and expect the same gains... but then later post again wondering why they lost a few on the low end.

look around some local shops.. or classifieds on here.. some ppl have some very high quality mufflers or axle-back(rear sections) for sale that are suprisingly cheap since they might be used a bit.. hell i got my GReddy SP Rear section for 140$ CDN! and whoever said that it's LOUD!.. you are wrong.. it's sooooooo low and smooth.. not very loud at all

i have used many brands of exhaust ranging from rsr to magnaflow. mostly on mazdas but magnaflow has always gained me the most hp with the utter best exhaust resonance. they sound beautiful imho. these were all custom welded setups tho. using their 2.5" universal circle series center in-center out mufflers. woot.
