So whats the difference between an EBAY high flow cat and a test pipe?
So.. whats the difference between this-

and this-

So is the EBAY *high flow cat* really just a resonator which looks like a cat? Or is just a straight through pipe? If it is a resonator wouldnt it be quieter than just a regualar test pipe.

yes, both are practicly test pipes, just the "high flow cat" (not a real cat) is a muffled test pipe, it will help calm down your nasty, raspy, gross, exhaust fart... doesnt help for emissions FYI.... id go with a ebay "highflow cat" instead of a pipe.... but yeah good luck

believe it or not going from a regular cat to a free flowing test pipe or whatever only frees up like a hp or two or three. Seen the dynos from a few hondas before and after. In my opinion a nice quiet sounding car with a few less ponies is alot better than the other louder annoying guy's honda that isn't moving any faster because of his test pipe...

^^^He's right....my magnaflow system came with a testpipe, which I put in when I installed the system. It freed up some hp, but it also gave a generally decent sounding system a little more raspiness under acceleration than I'd like. I'm probably going to be switching to a high flow cat soon to get rid of the raspiness...not a big fan at all, but if it doesn't bother ya, go for it.....

I just bought one of those ebay test pipes / cats. I'm going to put it in this week, should help my turbo spool up
I would go with the high flow cat because here in iowa, even though we don't have emissions testing, it's still a big fine for not having a cat and this at least would cover you for that.
Also, Ebay isn't supposed to allow people to sell test pipes anymore, but there are ways around it. A lot of the auctions that say high flow cat, if you read on you will see ***THIS IS A TEST PIPE***. I guess that's their way around that.
