is it me or are the enkei's over here kinda "ricey"? i used to have a set of the mesh ones, the Zokus, but i could never help but seeing all of these other cars with them that were "tacky"

Nah, I agree w/ you slowass. It's kind of a dated look now, though I don't know how old that car is. It just seems like a heavy-looking wheel for an EG. Come to think of it, I was never too keen on anything bigger than a 16" on an EG (or any civic for that matter

hrmm..
those enkies maybe awful looking, but there's probably some tech **** behind using them -- such as a high ratio/4.7 or higher final drive. Obviously, not everything in Japan (or even here) is biased towards 'looks only', everyone...
(but i do agree they could have used some better 16"+ wheels!

its not a Swan or a duck or anything like that. Its a picture of the "spoon curve" on suzuka circuit in japan. Look at this pic

FYI guys..it's not a "spoon swan" It's called a "Spoon Curve". The name comes from a track in Japan called Suzuka, and one of the turns is called Spoon. So it's the shape of the turn and not a swan. Hope this helps.

Beeboyee- is that yours? Nice. I never thought the white wheels on yellow car would look good, but that looks great. I've always thought the "old skool" Enkei's were cool too. More pics?
Just to elaborte a little further, the logo is as if you were standing in the middle of the track, in the spoon curve itself, looking back to the hairpin. The goes out to the right, then turns left, and then right (the right is the spoon itself). Keep in mind this is from this perspective, when driving, the track you are headed the other way; the spoon is a double apex left hander that proceeds a very long uphill straight. Basically if you make a mistake there, you will get passed.
It is actually both. There was a tread a while back about this same issue, is it the curve or the crane. Someone posted the Japanese Crane and it was a white crane with a black head and a red spot on the head. I think the guys at Spoon were meaning both as symbolism.
These pics suck but prove my point....

The orginal pic I saw had the crane facing just like the Spoon logo.
