I am in the market for an Integra. Can anyone answer a few questions?
I have been looking to buy an Integra GS-R, and I am trying to get as much info as I can before buying. What kind of major or minor changes (if any) were made between '94 and '95? Sometimes people list Integra GS. I thought there was LS, RS, and GS-R. Is GS another trim level, or just a typo? Are there any common problems with these cars that I should look out for? I currently own an 88 Civic with a lot of rust. Are any Integras having rust problems? Do they run strong past 100K? Thanks a lot.
they are no differences between the 94-95 gsr, and a buddy of mine has alomost 150000 on his gsr and it still runs strong
GS = all options besides the b18c motor
if all required maintence is done the motor will last a long time..( my car is a 93 gsr with 135k on it still purring like new)
As for rust honda paint isnt the greatest but if taken care of it should be fine( wash, clay, polish, wax)
only common problems i know is the clutch spring and the master cylinder..

i have an rs witch is likethe lowest model but it dont matter its still just as fast as an ls or gs. i have 112k miles and it runs like champ. i prob. would have liked to have the ls but im only 17 so im happy with the rs.
they stopped making RS in 2000. The made a special edition in 95-97? i believe. They replaced the special ediotion with the GS model. Sme thing as GS-r as far as "gadgets". No VTEC
wat gadgets does the gsr have that the ls doesn't have?? besides the strut bar in front and vtec engine.??none rite?? or is there something I don't know of?? well exclude the rims and lower profile tires..

Sunroof chatter. Some have it worse than others. Also the rear signal lamp gaskets may start leaking when it rains. As with all fwd with lots of miles, I'd closely inspect the cv boots.
sometimes the windows the glass can be out of the rubber guide, not a major problem, sounds like the window glass is about to fall out when closing the door though. Also if in the north...or anywhere for that matter check the underside for excessive rust. This a good indicator of the level of care taken to it during bad seasons. Dnt worry if the heat shields around the CAT are rusted away to nothing or even if you get bad rattles, its common. They might even look fairly new. If they are bad dont worry about replacing them, you will probably remove them once you do an exhaust system. Also, run a self diagnostic check on the ECU codes just to check for other probs. If this car has had like 1 owner or even 2 or 3 try and find repair or maintence records. OTher then that look forward to probably a great car!! Now keep inmind a few things, just caause its honda doesnt mean its indistructable, you can kill it. And easier will high miles. It will last a while, but you are gonna have to eventually put alittle money in it. Just be ready. If your not really into that, consider a diferent car really. Maybe a newer lower milage civic EX or if money allows Si, but from what you have said probably a decent Ex with all the goodies.
Is there anything I should be looking for when purchasing a GS-R that has more than 120,000 miles on it?
a good deal. No really. Allot of dealers will continue to stress...oh its a honda or ita an acura...these things arnt cheap! He is right, but if it seems like too much to pay for a 120K mile car it probably is. Check the Net for info and comparision prices and http://www.kbb.com, or others. Its easy to get ripped on used tegs with higher miles.
