Compression test turns out higher after 1 month of boost?
Not sure whats going on, but heres the story.
A month ago I was NA - Stock motor and did a compression test, and got 175 all across.. With warm motor and fully open throttle.
Finally boosted for a month, I decided to do a test again. Now I am getting 200 all across the board.? With warm motor and fully open throttle.
Any idea why? Is this good or bad?? *keep in mind im at 5500 feet elevation, in case if you see why the numbers so low*
Thanks..

What does the WOT have to do with the compression test? I know this is a gimme but are all your plugs pulled when you do the test? Were they all pulled last time when you were N/A? Did you turn the engine over for the same amount of time as last time?
Doh, only way is to pull out the plugs and test it. What I was told, and many others. to leave the throttle fully open.... and doesnt matter how many times you crank it. It will still pull the maximum result and stop there......
PLUGS OFF!
INJECTOR PLUGS UNCLIP
DISTRIBUTOR PLUG UNCLIP
Tested on a warm motor. Both same with NA / Turbo.

jus guessing here (be gentle) but with increased cylinder pressures, maybe the rings finally seated fully. have you modified the bottom end at all? if so, how long ago was it.

You hold the throttle open so there is no restriction sucking air in when cracnking.
Is this a new motor? Improved ring seal from additional miles could be the culprit.

sorry, im kinda tired and have been thinking about turbo's all day long.
You unclipped all your injectors? lol
Just pull the fuse for the ecu man.....
it would be higher if your getting carbon build up on the pistons.. the test should be done with a battery booster to make sure you get the same power to turn the motor at the same speed every time...

Actually, its been the same motor.. Never been rebuilt etc...Stock
I was assuming its carbon build up - Since the open down pipe and running a little rich, isnt helping me at all...
I assume its not to safe to run such a high compression? while boosting? Sea foam maybe?

Ok.. GOod to hear. Sounds odd at first.. Should I do anything about this? Or should I just leave it the way it is...
( yea, ECU fuse is ok, but the clips arnt so hard either. -

Just a thought: What oil were you using when you were N/A and what are you using now? Thicker oil will help make a better seal around the rings, and most FI guys use at least 15W or 20W oil.
