Default short shifter

I am getting a short shifter for my 99 ex and i would like to now whether i should go with a double or a single bend shifter. I am most likely getting skunk2 unless anyone has any reasons why i should get another one. I basically want to know the benfits of a double bend vs. a single bend

the double bend will make the shifter sit closer to the rear compared to the single bend. I've had both single bend and double bend shifter on before and only notice this difference. the short throws are exactly the same.
