i'm puttin a d16y7 with a dohc zc trans into my 91 civic hatch. i have all the parts i need but the half shaft doesn't bolt up on the back of the block. do i have to make a custom mount or is there a mount that i can rob from another car?

 

maybe you have to use the zc halfshaft...could be a custom length...just my .02

the automatic tranny shaft is differnt from the manual....

 

well, the one i have has a bracket in the shape of an L. it sits a couple of inches away from the block and there are no bolt holes on the block even if it would be closer. it's the right size as far as length goes.

 

Why would you expect the Y7 to have ZC intermediate shaft bolt holes in it? I don't think this combo is going to work. Your going to need 88-91 Civic axles with 90-93 Integra inner joints to get this to work it seems.

 

i figured that they would all have bolt holes because they were both d series engines. i think that i'll just make a custom steel plate between the lower left alternator bracket bolt and the intake manifold brace bolts. i wouldn't use the top bolt hole on the half shaft bracket.

 

I thought all 92+ USDM D blocks had the holes, but no threads.
