where is the oil press sender on a 2001 prelude?
i bought a ractive oil pressure gauge for my 2001 sh and ive been trying to figure out how the installation goes i know the wiring part but the sender is throwin me off if someone could help me out that be great
The sender is located directly below the oil filter on my 98 base, but since you've got an SH it's probably hidden by the ATTS or something. Should be very close to the oil filter though. Just disconnect the wire running into the sender, take out the stock sensor, and screw in the aftermarket sensor.
Wiring is easy, as you said, just a bitch to run through the firewall. Make sure you've got a good ground and that's all there is to it. Let me know if you have trouble finding your sensor, but if you can find your oil filter you will find your oil press sender.

since you have an SH just do what I and other SH owners do:

oil pressure sending unit remote mounted on fenderwell using conduit holder

this is what you use to tap into the oil port on the side of the head

the finished product complete with SS Braided Line
this pic is from a buddy of mine..mine is mounted the same way
heres a list of what you need to hook it up like that from http://www.mcmaster.com
1/8 BSPT ----> 1/8 NPT Fitting Stainless Steel ....... 4092K11
3ft. 3/16 ID SS Braided Hose (-3 AN) ....... 4552K211
1/8 NPT Coupling Stainless Steel ....... 4464K211 (needed for connection of hose to sending unit)
all for less than $30 shipped
If you're getting 0 psi, use a seperate ground for the sender. Even if you're not. The autometer sender is grounded to what it's screwed into. The SS line usually doesn't properly ground the sender. You need to find some way to either bolt the sender down to the chassis or engine to ground it, or stick a wire on it somehow.
