h23 + pauter rods = notching?
i got my pauters yesterday and there was a paper in the box that said notching the bottom of the cylinder walls may be ness. anyone have to do this?
well i just got the block last night. i would have had it apart, but i broke a socket last night...then i worked 15 hr's today. we'll see after work tomorrow

i have also heard about this, its just because the huge stroke of the h23 and the pauter rods are just so much bigger, i personally have not ever done an install that had to be notched, but im thinging you will have to

i got them from earl
he said he didnt think so, but hadn't done an h23 yet. he also said clearence should be a little better when sleeved with him, then stock.
i got the head off today. block looks ok, valves ae screwed...but i knew that. well see if they hit tomorrow.

a fucked one i bought off 95lude. that thing must have had 200k+ on it. it was all black and brown sludge inside.

good cause i forgot i dont have any 87 mm pistons to test with.

same everything. thats what we use for the most part is h23 rods cause only like one person actually makes rods for r engines. if u ask me they r the same engine pretty much just a bigger bore. i think thats y the h23 uses bseries cam gears cause its pretty much a bored out b20a. we use the same lenth rods so that pretty much tell is all. goodluck on ur project
