Honda Accord (1990 - 2002) Includes 1997 - 1999 Acura CL

just making sure, are 97 cl f22b1 and 96 accord f22b1 interchangeable?

Default just making sure, are 97 cl f22b1 and 96 accord f22b1 interchangeable?

as you can probably tell, i don't know anything about accords. my friend's timing belt snapped in his 97 4-cyl cl, and i have a spare engine out of a 96 accord ex lying around. they're completely interchangeable, right? wiring, mounts, etc are the exact same? just making sure before we swap it.

wel if you have a free engine sitting... I would definately use it before buying another...

anyways... yes I do believe that they are interchangeable.

anyone know for sure? and yes, there's a reason why we're putting in another stock engine instead of a h22; $$. plus my friend wants to get rid of the car, so no point of modifying it.

I would say yes. They are both F22B1 and OBD2 so all the wiring should be exactly the same. Mounting is going to be the same. You should be just fine, go for it.
