How much should I expect to pay for this Prelude?
I'm in the process of dealing with a guy on his wrecked 97 prelude, and he is debating on a price and I was curious to know how much I should give him for his shell? Here are the specs:
97 Prelude SH, silver
Front End Damage
Engine has been removed.
Needs new radiator support, bumper, bumper support, hood, both fenders, both headlights. Frame damage is unknown
Front seats, center console and exhaust are also gone from the car.
One of the wheels is curbed to a decent amount
Both airbags deployed
Other than that, the car is perfect from what I could tell. How much should I offer him if he can't think of a price? Or is it even worth it to spend my money returning it back to stock condition? I'm new to Preludes, so someone help me.
Thanks! Zach

I wouldn't pay anything more than $1000, because it's really hard to find prelude parts, specially airbags and headlights, the suspension components for the curbed wheel are hard to find also. Unless of course u buy all this stuff from the dealer which is WAY too expensive.
post a pic of the car

That's the picture that he gave me, you can find more pictures at this link:

There are some pictures there. Appearently I forgot to notice that the mirrors are gone and so is the rear lip.
well that prelude is almost stripped.... I would expect that you would have to put a lot into small little parts to drink it back to oem status
I wouldn't touch that except as a parts car. Even if you manage to get it back together, it is going to have salvage title forever and it is going to cost a fortune.

well lets see....... if you got the car for lets say 1000 then you would have to get a swap, some front seats, mirrors, exhaust, radiator support, hood, fenders, wheel if your that concerned with the curb mark, front bumper cover and metal, headlights, radiator cause this one is cracked, airbags, and if you cant find the little things, like bolts, at a hardware store then i suggest you dont get into this. so lets see what we got here.
swap- seen all over for anywhere from 2000 to 4500 depending on what you want
seats- also seen alot going for 100 or maybe a little more
mirrors- lets just say 100 or you could get some aftermarket
exhaust- 500 for a nice catback
radiator support- never really researched how much cause it was getting parted
hood- i am going with 100 or 150 for a stock hood
fenders- 50 bucks a piece or less
wheel- dont know how much that one wheel goes for
front bumper- for metal and cover i wouldnt pay more than 150
headlights- yes they arent jumping out at you but you can find them
radiator- stock one for 100 brand new
airbags- well yea there are not cheap but i have seen some on ebay go for 500
alright time to add it up: 2700swap, 100seats, 100mirrors, 500exhaust, 100hood, 100fenders, 150bumper, 100radiator, 500airbags, with the lets say 1000 for the car adds up to be a total of = $5350.00 for a 97 Prelude

the suspension is fine
i am sure you can find the other parts that i didnt know the price and add that in. just want you to fully know what you would be getting into.
