Stupid mechanics can't fix my ebrakes!
After going through three mechanics they still don't work. I need some feedback before I goto the evil dealership.
It's a stock 89 crx HF with rear drums replaced two months ago. Only thing replaced was shoes (Bandix I believe). Drums were resurfaced, rear brakes adjusted. Ebrake handle goes all the way up. Rears have been readjusted twice, last time was last week. Tightened parking brake adjusting nut below center console without success.
Original mechanic claims problem is caused by ebrake wires. Four other mechanics say problem cause by adjuster on brakes, springs, drum or wire. Original mechanic says wires aren't covered by warranty. Irony is this problem started after he finished work on them.
This has never happened before. I'm the original owner. I've never had this happend after so many brake jobs.
After each readjustment brake pedal goes all the way down. It feels like I have no brakes. Problem corrects itself after an hour or two of stop and go driving. Problem occurs only when I park on incline/hill, otherwise they work fine. Front brakes work fine.
All the mechanics were ASE certified. Original mechanic has certifications up the yang yang. He said he went to mechanic school. He is owner and has a very profession shop.
I've already spent too much time on this. Last mechanic said the readjustment will work. I've lost faith. I need some opinions before I head for the Honda dealership.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

good luck man,
my mustang had a kinda similar problem...the ebrake would click and everything but wouldn't hold anything. #1 mechanic looked at it and said i needed it adjusted #2 mecahnic said something about the rear drums needed something done.. then i took it to my friends dad who jacked up the car and SHOWED me how the whole ebrake line...everything pretty much was gone..fell off somewhere.
I hope yours works out, but i'd have to say take it to the dealership

don't know if it will work but it's a try.
release the adjuster nut from the center console. (not all the way out)
with e-brake on. then go adjust the back brake, until you feel the brake grab to the drum. Not too tight. After that go tight the adjuster nut to your setting.
Let me know if it works.
