Default Clutch cable question....is it stretching?

Most of the time my clutch is relatively easy to engage, but sometimes it's a little tough.

Usually the pedal engages in a normal spot, but sometimes it engages very high or very low, even after I've adjusted the cable several times.

Do you think it's stretching? How much do the cables go for new?

When you start it do you have to put the clutch pedal to the floor? I am buying a 90 civic si hatch tomorrow and it has to go to the floor in order to start but other then that it hooks up fine. I am just trying to see if our problems are related. Not trying to hi-jack or nothin...and free bump too.

You have to put every standard vehicles clutch pedal all the way (or very close) to the floor.

That's how the clutch switch activates and tells the starter it's safe to turn over.

i stretch my cable all the time cuz i have a b16 with a clutchmaster stage 2 racing clutch in it(6 puck style), i'm on my 3rd clutch cable in a year, they run about 50 bucks. When i stretch mine, it just gets hard to put it in gears and it starts to release at the floor, then i have to keep adjusting it so it releases up off the floor.

Sounds like the same probem I'm experiencing.

Do you buy your cables from Honda or from like Pep Boys, Autozone etc?
