just got the jdm ef9 rear seats!
first off i hope i can post this in this fourum? i just got a set of jdm rears! so my question is about where should i mount my amps?? i have 2 amps on the back of my stock rears, but im not to sure if i wanna start putting holes in these seats (after all they where pretty hard for me to get) so if anyone has any ideas or pics of where to do the mounting these amps? or your opinions of me just mounting them on the jdms?? oh and another reason i put the amps on the rears where cuz they dont fit under the front seats and i got a battery and sub in the trunk (so i dont have alot of room to work with) thanks

i do hate electrical i dont have a good understanding of it. as for the seats i managed to win em on ebay but they are gonna kill me with shipping ($190) but if you want seats there is a guy here on ht that i was gonna get seats from (cuz hes from england, and they got those over there) his ht name is loco racer
I've experimented with many different amp setups in my rex, too bad I have no amps now.
. One way is mounting them to the frame in back of your seat, that's if you can stand your seat being a little closer. Another is mounting them in the rear paneling, you can custom cut it, seal it, whatever you want. That takes a little more time (too much for me, I just took out the paneling). If you don't have a spare you can mount amps in that well too. Looks nice, when all you see is carpet and a sub
It does get a bit tight back there, that's why I think I'ma make a custom enclosure with amp mounts on either side of the sub and slide it all the way in the back (Rear Sway bars are crappy
) Hit me back if you have any other ideas and show me how you do it. I love installs

Sure thing
. I'm always glad to help out someone. I'm still debating what my audio setup is going to be and how I'm going to install it. In fact how I install it is going to be a huge benefactor towards what I purchase. Keep meh posted!

Don't know if this will work with your amps.
But if they are narrow enough and not too long, and you don't plan on putting people in your back seat, you can mount them on the flat vertical panel chassis where the floor pan meet the back seats. You have enough space there to mount two amps, one on each side, but mount them againt the vertical part not flat on the floor. It still allows for you to move your seat as far back as you want, it looks nice if done up correctly and you dont have to drill into your JDM seats yo!
hopefully you understand what i mean.

I didn't get too crazy w/my setup. I chose not to mount the amp to the seats b/c I DO haul stuff in the car still, i.e. dorm move in this weekend! Gonna suck!
Before I had a nice box I just screwed the amp to the box since the feet are insulated w/rubber. For now it's just sitting on the carpet and the way the wires are setup it stays in place. Now to the right of the box is a tool box
so in case anything happens I gots it all w/me.
I don't know if I'll screw the amp down or not since it has stayed in place after whipping around many corners. Oh yeah here's a pic of it

Front seats match the rears too
