Hi ya'll I recently got a 89 Honda Accord (4cyl Auto) and it has about 110k miles and its running fine, but if I dont warm it up in the morning for at least 5 minz, it starts to turn itself off whenever i come to a stop! Its really annoying and it pisses off the drivers behind me...

Also I got a brand new alternator, starter, and battery, but still the car has problems starting up, any ideas?

89 eh? just do wut you can...sry no advice...

 

Is it carb'd or fuel injected? It's been a while since I've had my 88 Accord, but I think there's an adjustment screw for the fuel mixture, and also the cold idle (I believe Honda called it "fast idle"). Also, small leaks in the vacuum lines on the carb'd models can cause a whole array of different problems, some of which are only noticeable while the engine is cold, and some that are only noticeable when the engine is warm.

Hopefully this can get you started in the right direction...

 

its carb'd and i am taking it in to have the all the wires and vacume pipes checked out sometime soon, i found a broken wire in there somewhere, so gotta get that fixed, hopefully that will solve my problem, thanx for the help
