Unknown Solenoid on H22A swap. Need help!!!
Hey guys,
I'm swapping a JDM H22A into my 1992 Prelude Si. On the H22 in the middle of the intake manifold, on top of of the fuel rail, there is a solenoid sitting there. It has a vacuum line going into from the FPR and then a line going back into the IM. The H23 harness doesn't have a connector for it. Do I just yank it out? Thanks for any info.

correct me if i'm wrong anybody but i think that's the pcv. on the si, the pcv is mounted on the firewall and on the vtec model it's mounted on the engine. at least that's how mine was. If you end up taking that out and you do end up throwing a code, just keep it in mind.

You're wrong. The PCV valve & hose goes from the valve cover to the IM on both H22 and H23. The Evap system is on the firewall, though...

this exact same thing was on my engine swap but they did not use it and now I have a freakin idle surge that is driving me crazy -- it goes from 800 to 2000 rpm and back down it drives me nuts i do not know if it is the air control valve or the fast idle valve --- if I put my figure over the 7:00 hole in the intake manifold it idles normally but when I remove it surges like crazy...
isnt that the silinoid that goes to the small airbox that connects underneath the intake manifoild forgive me if i dont know correct names just from looking at it and have just finish h22a swap thats what i can get from the pic.
Vacuum line on bottom, one on the side, and a 3-pin connector on the opposite end? I'm willing to bet it's the EVAP sol valve.
edit: "evap purge control solenoid valve" is the textbook term.

you dont ned to worry about that valve as has been said before, whatever hole that you covered with your finger, plug it. Then your engine will idle normal, that valve doesnt control your idle at all, the vac leak you have is causing the surge.
yeah well lI think it is the idle air control valve sits in front of the throttle body the shop that did said they will look at it next week but this idle surge crap is driving me crazy and I looked at the write up on cleaning it out and I did that but I do not think that it is switching over and the motor on the iac is bad has anybody had this problem
that particular solenoid is used for many systems (evap purge, egr system, IAB, and more), but the bracket attached to it indicates it is a fuel pressure regualtion solenoid that controls when the FPR sees vaccum. toss it in a parts box to sell to someone that needs an egr control solenoid or IAB solenoid.
