Default Filter location from turbo... Any proven power gains?

I have my filter located directly next to my turbo, behind the radiator fan as seen here:

I received a PM stating that I could pick up nearly 20hp by moving it closer to the stock location. Don't want to run out and spend money on something that isn't needed. So whats up? Is this true or just a myth?

I don't know about an extra X amount of power, but u should have a cooler overall intake charge.

Wether it's worth it, it's up to u. I am thinking about moving mine closer to the stock location, but don't know if the cooler intake charge (how much cooler?) is worh it.

My Rev Hard mani has the filter coming out in front of the fan. On the dyno at 7lbs I made 286 with the filter in front of the fan, and 293 with an elbow going out of the engine bay getting fresh air, although that air did not have the fan hitting it. We tried the same thing on my buddies car with a Full Race, the filer is over by the drivers fender, no radiator or fan there, made NO difference.
