Went out and did some gymkana for the first time ever. I must say, it was a complete blast.
I wasn't expecting to do any good really compared to the other guys out there. They are all experienced in gymkana, but I faired really well. The other cars out there were DC2R, EK4, EG6, EG9, DA2, and a WRX STi(was supposed to be only Hondas, he's a cop so who was going to say NO)
.
On the second run, I blew it hard. The e-brake just doesn't do a damn thing on the DC5. All the other cars turned on a dime when they grabbed the e-brake. I thought I was going to pull the damn thing off, trying to get the rear to 180 on some of the turns. I will say the DC5 really loves to just throw its *** out when on it hard. On the second run on the second track, I was flying, had a beautiful FF drift hugging the 2 upper cones, but then I had a brain fart and went left instead of right to go through the twisties. I was so pist, because I was going to easily set the fastest lap. I ended up being down by 4.5 seconds with my first run and the DC2R driver was the overall winner. This wasn't a real competition, just some Honda mechanics and a couple police officers getting together during their summer break. I was just happy that one of the mechanics invited me when I was at Honda earlier in the week.
I have found a new love...time to get some Advan A048s!!!
Ok the vids

Haha, I knew someone would pick up on that. Put that there to make you ITR owners HAPPY!!!
He was running non-stock suspension and also was running with Advan A038s. Using a ARC intake, not sure what header, and looked like a Spoon exhaust. It was quick and he was experienced that's for sure.
I just can't wait to do it again.

Chris, go check out ARIES in Hyogo; they have some kind of sale on tires right now...some Advan, plus the new Bridgestone RE-55.
You and me are gonna have a kart shootout in Shanghai

Really?!?! Don't have the cash now though
meeting you in Shanghai in 6 weeks and saving to go home this winter. Most definitely we are going to battle on the karts!!
Hopefully the circuit is as technical as the Suzuka circuit and the cars are as quick. The new Bridgestone RE-55S look like some great tires, but you can never go wrong with the old A048s or 38s.
Ricer fly-by? haha, had to try and make up a bit of time on that fuckup. I volunteered to go first, that course there was no practice allowed and only 2 runs each. With the brake bias almost completely up front on the DC5R, the hand brake is about useless really and the final 2 cones were spaced really close together and I just didn't go wide enough and ended up having to reverse. Hitting a cone adds 5 seconds. Maybe would of been better to just hit the cone, not sure.
