What a terrible day. So I'm walking out to my car after work and I see this 10" streak of black **** on my rear bumper and I think to myself, "Oh ****!" I get closer to examine it and see two black streaks on the back left corner of the bumper. Apparently, someone tried to parallel park behind my car (I park in the street at work), but cut it too close and ended up hitting the back left corner of my bumper. Of course when I ask the people around, no one saw anything. I go up to Don Mealy Acura and they say, "We don't paint, go to Courtesy Pontiac, that's where we take our cars." So, I go to Pontaic and wait 45 minutes before anyone even asks me if I need any help. (Talk about "courtesy") To make a long story short, the estimate to fix it is $357.22 and they said they need my car for 2 days. What a ******* joke. Central Floridians, if you see a black car with Phoenix Yellow paint on their bumper, let me know!! My deductible is $500.00, so there goes my mod money. Any details on whether or not you have to pay a deductible if it's a hit and run?

I feel your pain bro. Somebody scratched the corner of my front bumber at work!!! I was pissed at the fact that my car lost its innocence but I was even more furious that a co-worker didn't have the decency and courtesy to leave a note or something. I've gotten over it since then and I guess it's easier for me since my car was black and it's the scratch doesn't stick out.

Yeah, there's me, Dustin (01 PY Type R) and Keith (01 FBP Type R) from Orlando. Yeah, I agree with you on Don Mealy. They told me to my face that I couldn't afford the car because I was too young, so I drove up to Orange Park Acura the next weekend and bought the **** off the lot without even negotiating the price.

 

seriously, just leave it. its a bumper, that's what its for. you'll get over it. just try to buff it out...who knows when it'll happen again? same shiet happened to me, except they got my rear quarter panel and taillight too, i got the body fixed cuz water was leaking in, but i left the bumper alone (to save $)...anyway, its just cosmetic, use the money for mods

 

I too feel your pain. While at a shopping mall, a truck backed into me and cracked my taillight and dented the bumper and the panel between the bumper and hatch. Estimate came to like $700 so I decided with a $500 deductible may as wel pay for it myself, so I bought a used tail light off Rob Maybach and saved some $$.

I'm not like that though man. The first door ding I had, I went to the nearest Dent Wizard place and paid 80.00 for them to pop that **** out. I'm into perfection, just like the Type R. Anything aesthetically wrong with the car is an imperfection I'm not willing to deal with. It's so sad. I my car and want it to look perfect all the time.

 

The exact same thing happened to me. An SUV backed into me in a parking lot, and cracked the tail light, and shifted the bumper and the trim piece between the bumper and the light. My estimate was $562, and my deductable is $500, so forget that. I am probably going to swap the tail light myself, and I might try and remove the bumper and fix that, too. That is, unless his insurance covers it, then I will get ti all fixed... Why can't people pay attention!!
