having both cars at good looking condition, i'd take a 93 civic over 90 civic anytime...it's just me.

advantages of 93 civic over 90 civic si:

-obd1
-looks better
-more parts (aerodynamics and performance)

can't think of any disadvantages

d15b7? d15b7 does not have vtec...but i'd recommend doing a Mini-Me swap: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=554053 while you are at it. or wait for swap.

I would say go with the newer if he has maintenence records and it has been taken care of very well. Why would he want to trade anyway?

ps: you like my sig?

i'd def take the 93 coupe. i have a 93 coupe that i'm selling bc i got an eg hatch and did a swap. the possibilities are endless bc of obd1, much easier to do a swap and make it go. the '93 dx stock engine is slow, rated at 103hp at the crank, new. just buy a ls b18b motor or a gsr b18c1 and get a swap done for a couple $2-5 grand depending on motor and labor rates. much faster than the 90 si with that mod and much easier to make faster.

luck with the trade

just buy a b-series motor/trans/axle/ecu, you'll be much happier. its not that expensive. obd1 b18b goes right in w/o any hastles or wiring problems. If you have the motor mounts from the 93 civic and the 92-5 integra you don't even need to buy aftermarket mounts (i ended up buying one, because one was damaged).

seems to me like something funny goin on. why would someone want to trade a car worth alot more than yours?? he could just sell his and buy the same car you got and have lots of money on top of things for mods and what not. i guess if you wanan swap right away go for it. cause the only thing i could think of. is that the engine is about to go in his coupe. and thats why he wants to trade.

i would just be careful and have it checked out thouroughly, thats all.

If you do trade, you may want to look into putting the EF Civic/CRX Si cam in the D15B7 if you can't afford to swap for awhile, it will be some much needed, and cheap hp.

If you're car is is good shape, i.e. no rust, good interior, I'd keep the hatch and do an OBD1 conversion. Hard to find a nice EF these days.

i would go for it anyways even if the motor blows u can get another for like 600 bills the eg is the easiest car to work on. most of everything for it. i have 2 of them a coupe and a hatch.. and i love them both.
