more electrical problems! very odd.
ok, this is in an 89 CRX DX with a ZC. I put a new alternator in about a week ago. well, about 3 days ago the battery light would come on very faintly but go away when you revved the car up. i tightened the belt thinking it may have stretched. the light still came on, still very faint. it would go off if you turned the headlights on or anything to draw power. tonight I was driving it and turned it off to go into a store. when I came out, it wouldn't start. I tryed jump starting it, but it wouldn't start. I let it set for a while and got something to eat. I hooked the battery terminals back up and it started. I shut it down again at a friends house and wouldn't start again, for about an hour. when I finally got it home, I turned it off then started it up again, no problem. when it wouldn't start, the battery light and the oil light would stay on even with the key out. when I turned on the headlights all the cluster lights came on, oil, battery, trunk, seatbelt. All except the check engine. it's now throwing a code 17 ELD. any clue what maybe wrong?
Check your grounds, make sure that they are nice and secure. Check the connections at the alternator, make sure that the plug is in there nice and tight. If you have a multi-meter, you can check to see if the alternator is working. Start the car and check the voltage at the battery. As you rev the motor, the voltage at the battery should increase. Code 17 is VSS (vehicle speed sensor). Coincidentally, when my alternator took a crap, my car threw a code 17 too.
I checked the grounds, they seemed good and where tight. I'll check the alternator with a multimeter, but it checked out good when I but it in. Also when the car wouldn't start, there was a clicking sound coming from the drivers side door, when you would turn the key to on. it was coming from down where the seatbelts retract in the bottem of the door.

I am having the same problem 2 weeks ago I got a new altenator and just thursday the 12th I got a new battery and the RPM's would still rise upto 1k and the battery light would flash...Its driving me nuts im gonna change my ground wires and see what happens.
if you think it might be your retractable seatbelt, then your should make sure your battery is fully charged and find the fuse for your seatbelt and take it out. sure now your wont have a motorized seatbelt but this will tell you if that was the prob or not
clicking from the driverside door area sounds like a main relay to me. you possible have a short in it somewhere or no ground connection.
check the wires around the main relay. and check the wires near the resistor box.
then try a new relay.
