hello all,
i'm pretty new to the import scene, and like many other newbies i wanted to drastically upgrade my ride in a hurry! I started out with a 1994 Accord with the stock F22 motor. Lacking the power i desired, i decided to swap in a h22 from a 'lude. Making a long story short, i ended up with a jdm h22a from a 91 prelude. The swap was drastically hard with everything from the wiring, air and fuel delivery,ect. going wrong. Well, after about a year now, my friends and i finally managed to get the motor running. the only problem is that now it won't pass emissions or a referee check. What gives? was this a hopeless project to begin with, or do i simply have to get the repairs done? anywho, any tips or comments would be greatly appreciated!

 

i dont mean to sound like a dick but if you click on the search button at the top right of the screen and do a search for like smog check or passing smog this topic has been cover many times...

 

Wanna drastically upgrade in a hurry, Like? well, sell it and get an M3. Or do some reading.

 

So you live in California and didn't even bother to look into what would be needed to smog it? That is almost unbelievable...

 

it wasn't exactly like that, i used to live in Arizona where they don't require a smog test. i moved here as the swap was being done and need it for a new registration.
