Correct steps to adjust paint spray gun?
My manual that came with my gun assumes that you already have a pretty good knowledge about spray guns.
It tells you what adjustment does what, and I understand that...but I'm wanting to know where to start.
Do I start with the pressure? Or by adjusting the fan? Or what?
Do I adjust the pressure with the trigger on or off? Because when I pull the trigger the PSI goes down by about 5 or so.
Reason I ask is that I can't seem to get the pattern just the way I want it.

is it a gravity fed gun or a suction?
with a gravity fed gun, air pressure should be set at about 100-110psi, and with a suction fed gun, pressure should be set at about 35-40ish
does the gun have a 2 stage trigger? if so, when adjusting the pressure, pull the trigger so it only activates the first stage, then adjust the pressure around 100-110 psi, pressure should be set at about 130-140psi at the regulator, because you will lose air pressure because of the cord
pressure should be the first thing to start with, after the pressure is nice, you should adjust the fan pattern, depending on what your spraying, test it out and adjust to the pattern you would need, when your adjusting this, you will actually have to spray out paint or whatever to see how the pattern looks
make sure your air horn is horizontal, and after you use it, you should throughly clean the gun, take it apart, and clean the aircap, and ocassionally clean the fluid needle
