Default Finished up an obd1 conversion. But im throwing a soft code for VSS. How do i fix this?

I used the boomslang conversion kit and everything is working very well. Except that when driving im getting a soft code for the vehicle speed sensor. Im using the stock mechanical one. Its on my 89 crx. I wanted to know if there is a fix for this or would i have to switch out my cluster to perhaps a jdm one and run an electronic speedo? Is there any pins on the back of the cluster that i can try hardwiring to the ecu for speed signal? THanks in advance....

I'm assuming your speedo works????

Find the VSS wire on the stock underdash harness and make sure it's connected to the jumper harness correctly. Trace the wire - it should be going to the OBD-1 ECU at pin B10

Yeah,i just came from outside and traced that. The speedo does work fine and the wires are correctly in place. This prob is making my head hurt.

the obd1 computer has a input for a electronic vss so it is time for you to get like a gsr or si cluster or something with a electronic vss speedo

or you can just leave it and let your light blink, it is absolutely not hurting anything

When my vss was not working, my Vtec wouldn't come on either... My p72 has some "no VTEC till 20mph" thing in it.

Here check out this thread for the fix: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=880736

GREAT info!

I thought they all operated off the same signal!
Does the P28 also need a 12 volt signal or does it work off of a ground signal?
