dust cap?????
This weekend I changed the clutch in my project 91da I just picked up. I have never changed a clutch by myself before, and when all back together I cant put it into gear while the car is running but I can while its off.
I had a friend thats a mechanic come over and look at it once I had taken everything back apart and he told me that I crushed the dust cap and that the clutch pressure plate I had was no good.
My question is, the dust cap is the little thin plate on the bottom of the tranni? and I used a pressure plate from a 92 b18a is that the reason that the clutch pressure plate is no good?
any information will be greatly appreciated!

If the mechanic inspected the pressure plate and said it was no good, then there is your problem. He probably saw worn/bent fingers or something. About the "dust cap", the only thing that could be is what u already stated, the plate that seals the dust/dirt out and mounts somewhat beneath the tranny. For the time being, until u find a good condition one, u can just leave the "dust cap" off all together. Was the pressure plate used when u got it? What year clutch disc did u use?
