old busted up crx project
me and my buddy just stripped our project car pretty much ebfore it was ever even close to being finished. what happened is, he blew his motor in his del sol so we pulled the one from our crx. the crx is in his name and hes paid for everything so i had no complaints, ive just put alot of work into it, and now hes talking about scrapping it, and i think its worth keeping, and he said i can just have it and i was wondering if yall even thought what we were doing was a good idea or not.
we bought the car totaled, it sorta go t boned towards the back, if you get waht i mean, some big *** truck got it. well we fixed all the body damage, just about. and what we did was we got the bright idea ( actually it was to save money and we figured itd be kinda cool ) of shaving the back windows ( not the hatch window ) you know... the ones on the side behind the doors. we never actually finished it but the windows are gone. it also has no engine. if it is worth keeping, id like to know a good place i good get a d-series motor for little to nothing, i.e. ...about a 100 bucks or less. id at least like to get it running again so i can move it to a good place to work on it.
also... ill get some pics posted when i get em.

Lots to answer. A project is always respected, but what are you going to do with it? If performance, then make certain the chassis hasn't been damaged. If it has, it could be weak and unaligned. Bad for turns and such. Well, you might could take things different. Like a good left, and bad right. If it's show, then just make it look good. Although if you're looking for a D-series, I doubt you're performing with it. I've got a D-series engine in mine that I'm selling when I have the new B-series to go in. I'll sell it cheap, but shipping will get you due to weight. However, I need it in mine until the B is bought. But if you're willing to weight I'd give it to you for cheap. It's got (about to be..) 208K, but runs like a champ. I rebuilt it at about 186K. It just got back from a trip to arizona and back (from atlanta Ga) and ran with no problems except a radiator hose expanding. Once replaced, she ran clean. I'll get you a video of it if I can so you can see my Hatch run. To summarize, bring to life a project, but get estimates and make sure it's worth it. And make sure the car can handle what you're going to do with it. Other than that...good luck bro.
its pretty much just for show, i wouldnt really trust going fast in it, the frame was pretty messed up when we got it, before we started glassing and bondoing it we strapped some, damn what ar4e those things called... well you know those straps that you have the little ratchet thing on... yah those... well we wrapped those around a tree and bolted it to the car and cranked it so far that we had the car up on 2 wheels. but it got the frame where we wanted it so apprently it worked. if i went with performance, id probably weld in some body supports but for right now im looking to go with just show and a little bit of go. its a long long way away from being completed, i should have a job pretty soon so by the time your ready to get rid of that d series i should have some money saved up.
edit:
are you saying you live in atlanta!? hell i could just drive down there and pick it up im located in chattanooga. just give me a yell when ever your ready to sell, i wont have any moeny for a few months anyway so im in no rush.

Just keep in touch. I live about 20 minutes from Barrett Parkway, which is where I work. If you've been there you know where and why I'm using it as a reference point. It's the place that everyone rolls to. Talked to some guy two nights ago from Dalton, Ga. If you don't know where it is, it's down I75 right where 575 and 75 Split off. I'm not ready to grab my B16 yet either, so keep in touch whenever money's right. If you catch me at a time I may pretty much just hand over the engine if it's taking up too much of my garage. Ya know, mom's and stuff suck too. She doesn't understand that it's ok if a little oil gets in the garage. If you're in chattanooga you're about...two and a half hours out I think depending how fast you drive, but yes, Atlanta Ga. Shorter distance actually cuz I'm about a half hour north of Atlanta. Check a map and look up woodstock/mareitta/kennesaw area. Again, keep in touch, and I hope to hear from you when everything's ready.
