Ls differences

I have a 91 Intgera b18a1 in my crx, What makes the 12 HP difference between the b18a1 and the 92-93 LS engine? Thanx for any help

Im not 100% sure but I was told its because of the 90-91 being obd-0 and the 92-93 being obd-1. Well thats what I was told.
