personally I go for the ITR engine, for the above mentioned reasons, and I'm sure the swap is alot easier too, do you need custom motor mounts to put a H series in the DC2? i don't know, I'd find that out.. In addition, what are your plans for the car? Are you planning on doing a drag setup, if so, then maybe the H series might be better as a platform, although B series have so much more aftermarket parts, you'll start off with alot more torque in the H series and some more HP according to the specs you posted. If you're thinking Autocross/Road Racing, then you need to stick with the B series, not only for the higher revs but to keep the car more nimble when you whip it around the twisties.

The last hype-r I drove didn't go to 8900. Must have been something wrong with it. The prelude motor is not a simple bolt in. It will be a bigger pain in the *** to do the swap. But they do run hard. I would pick the hype-r. They will probably run close to the same but the ITR motor will be much easier to do.
I have a 94 gsr and had to replace the motor(due to oil consumption and age) and went with a pretty much B18C5 with around 11 compression. I have been nothing but impressed with this engine. The power is there even with the gsr gearing. The install wasn't an ordeal either. A few minor changes and it will work. Go for the B18C5 and you will be more than happy!
