Default What are acceptable mods to a car?

So what mods are considered acceptable to do to a car? It is so sad I am even able to ask this, but now I am curious. What makes a mod acceptable or not? What kinda criteria is there? What makes something ok to do to your car and other things not? I don't mean leagally, I mean according to the all-mighty gods that are in these forums and have set themselves up to know what's acceptable and what is not? I am sorry if I sound aggrevated, but I am.

I don't feel anything is not acceptable, if you want to do it you should be able to. Without the threat of other Honda-Tech members threatening to vandilize your car. And YES it has happened.

NO I will not post pics of either of my cars, my integra is 6 different colors not including the CF hood, and my civic may be considered rice since it is lowered with 16's.

But I seriously would like serious honest answers, not jerky comments. If you can't give an honest opinion (or fact as you think it is) then please DON'T post.

There's a "rule of thumb." It's much like styles of clothes. There are some things that should NEVER be worn and some that are acceptable and others, very tasteful.

your question sounds sarcastic, not serious..........so why would you want a serious answer in return
anyway, ignoring the sarcasm in your post. The Honda-Tech aesthetic is this: stock looking hondas and acuras that are quick and handle well. Don't do it if it will not improve one of these two areas or take away from a clean stock look. Cosmetically, anything that is made by honda (jdm or usdm), is not going to get flamed for the most part.
But research things for yourself, don't be a helpless sheep mindlessly following the herd.......make the mods because you have decided (after reading up) that they are good mods to make and have sound reasoning behind it. That way if anyone does flame, you can present a good argument, and leave it at that. Also get some tougher skin so the occasional flame won't bend you all out of shape.

Can't please all the people all the time, and why would you want to.

Okay, heres what is acceptable.
On your honda, you MUST have a sticker that says "Your girlfriend inside" in the style of the "Intel Inside" stickers that are on cars with pentium processors~

whatever you choose to do to your car is your decision.

everyone is entitled to their own personal taste and style... and its completely normal that not everyone likes the same thing.. its up to you to decide whether or not u let other people's opinions drive you to anger.

do what u want to do.. if u love it.. and u know that all your heart, hard work and money has gone into it.. not everyone can afford perfection... dont let anyone break you..

different people have different point of view. some like going fast while looking stock, other like looking fast but not fast at all. and there some that like both. as long as you can back up all the big wing, body kit, sticker. i dont mind but ill still call u a ricer tho .

man do what you do .. i mean as long as it is tasteful... if you want rice, then be rice, but people will dog on you so you'd better have the power to back up your car's physical statement..for example...ricing you ride out is not called tunning.. anybody with money can buy a cow catcher body kit, shopping cart rear spolier and the all ugly 19 inch chrome anythings.. but real respect comes from getting your hands dirty and converting your car into a fine tunned machine and showing that you have more knowledge than just how to put the key in the ignition and order decals off ebay.....

and anything you see in the movies...forget it....plain and simple...FORGET IT

just don't slap on shitty stickers, screw on an bike rack for a wing, put a tin can on your honda accord family car...and rev at me or anyone else. i see a **** load of these folks every weekend...and they annoy the hell out of me.

oh...and please paint your body kit before you drive that biatch around.

i don't mind if a car looks riced out as long as it's CLEAN. none of this bondo here and there and half *** jobs on riced cars. Altelzzas are also played out...everyone has them...SUVs, Mustangs, Trucks, Hondas, etc...

it is your car.....all of us at this site love cars and love to work on them, if it body work or engine tuning, and if people make fun of you because your car is rice then so be it. one of my good *** friends has a 91 prelude with a silver fat no name brand wing and i dont make fun of him as much, just dont rev at anyone or put on a muffler on a stock exhaust. and why is your car 6 colors???? spending your cold hard cash you earned on your car, it should make you feel good....and about the altezzas, they are HELLA played out, and dont get inspired by fast and the furious, everything in that movie is wrong....as stated
