Default GSR vs. type R

I was wanting to know what are the quarter mile specs on the GSR and type R integras and if there was really that much of a difference.

theres not much of a difference at all, the Type R is great but its true potential isnt on the 1/4, thats where everyone screws up. The car was meant for handling not the 1/4, put both on a course and the Type R will destroy the GSR but on the 1/4mile their both 15sec cars with the Type R being a hair quicker. From the top of my head maybe the GSR is around 15.5 give or take and the Type R might be around 15.3 give or take, nothing crazy. Money for money just get a GSR and use the extra $1500 in engine price difference on mods that will give it more Hp than a R.

Deep: The stock times are high 14's (around 14.7 like Falcon stated) Some have even gone 14.5. Others, with weight reduction, IHE, have gone low 14's and even 13's. But you're right, it need to be on the track, not a drag strip.

much more of a price difference between the two cars, atleast where I live. I got my GS-R for $13k.. a Type R in the same condition, same miles was $18-20k I think I made the right decision.

theres some stock R owners that are really good at driving and come out with 14.2's 14.3's on this board...the best ive seen a GSR hit with a intake was a 14.9 15.0

Reaction Time has nothing to do with your E.T. you can sit at the light for 5 minutes and pick your nose, and still pull off a 14-15 second 1/4 mile time. Although if you are bracket racing, your R.T is calculated into the formula.

But if you're smart, you wouldn't aim for dragging the R, it's true home is around the twisties.

so very correct

a itr is about half a second faster than a gsr
but trust me thats a lot
i raced my friends itr with my cousins gsr and the itr can pull on the gsr very easy.

theres a lot of stock r owners wit maybe a intake on this board hitting 14.2 14.3 14.4's......15.0-15.3 im guessing with a very shitty driver...but of course the R is at its greatest on the course

an r is listed around under acura as a 15 second car.the high 14's must be with different tires or at least an intake.

more power...lighter chassis...shorter gears...better suspension...etc.

i would think an R would/could run mid-low 14's with a decent driver. i have never driven an ITR before but have raced one with low boost setting (6psi) and man does that thing take off!! it's only till 3rd gear when i actually catch up and pass that beautiful car.

just a quick question... ive been reading that shorter gears = better accel for underpowered cars.... so does that mean long gears will be perfect for big hp cars?

Oy! i've seen a bone stock R run 14.8 and another wit exhaust and intake run 14.6 and i know Gsr do like mid to low 15 depends i guess. just R's are so over priced. wit that money u can do a K swap and dance all over what ever integra u want

I stand corrected, I should have looked the times up but hey my bad. I've had boys that had close to stock B18C5's run 13's in hatchbacks. A while back I saw some list and I dont remember the Type R in stock shape (no weight reductions ect..) it wasnt under 15sec but hey I'll take your words for it untill I check it out later. A stock WRX runs mid 14's right? I dont really see the R runing better runs than that unless they stripped it completely.
