Default 98 Accord EX

Hey everyone, i was just wondering what my stock 98 accord ex's sound system is. i swear this car has got to be the best stock sound system i have ever heard. i don't know if it's mine personally just because it wants to work extra well for me but it freakin great. my mother's 94 accord EX, so the dealer told us, had a all-around alpine system stock. i can turn my radio up to 50% (lol, i'm about half deaf and i'm driving alone so it's not like i'm trying to converse with someone) and i get absolutely no distortion and really kicking bass. this is REALLY loud and at this point you usually can hear the speakers starting to fail and distort but i am getting 0% of that junk. when the bass kicks it like shakes the mirrors and all that jazz so it's not like little thumps. i am just trying to describe to you guys what it is like. does anyone know who is the maker of all this junk, and can anyone with a 98 accord ex say that same?

Hmm, well I can tell you there was no Alpine sound system that came stock in a '94 Accord EX. At least there was no such thing in mine. I'm suprised the stock sound is that good in a '98. Couldn't tell you where they got the components from.

maybe he was incorrect about all around but i'm pretty sure i actually saw alpine written somewhere on the radio we took out of her 94 accord ex and i was somewhat surprised that the guy wasn't lying

Honda factory radios are made by Alpine. They just don't have the Alpine name on them because they don't exactly meet "Alpine standards". Alpine produces the headunits for Honda, Acura, BMW, and a couple other car makers, with the obvious exceptions of the premium systems offered in some of the cars (which use systems like Bose or Infinity because they are more well-known to the non-audiophile).

6th gen's sound system is better than i predicted when i first got the car.
I was gonna replace the whole sound system with something else but i end up just doing the speakers.

TL-S 2nd using bose system and it sounds better

alpine also makes honda speakers. even tho they still paper. and even on my lowly base model civic that didn't come with a headunit.

hehe...see...i knew i was right. i couldn't really ask for more. i would consider getting all around new stuff including headunit and speakers but i wouldn't really expect them to be any better performing than these so why waste so much money? i...i love you honda
