PLEASE: Post pros and cons of 2000 GSR
I am considering buying a used 2000 GSR coupe from a dealer. The car is a one-owner return from lease with 43,000 miles. It is in excellent condition. The price is $13,500.
I want a car that is fast, handles well and is affordable. This one seems on the high end of my budget, but I hear good things . . .
Any comments? Thanks in advance.

in the words of Ferris Bueller: "It is soo choice. If you have the means I highly recommend you pick one up."

For that price and mileage you cant go wrong. If you want good handling and performance (and future potential) this car is for you. I've had my 99 GSR for 4 years (i also bought it used at 35k) and i have NEVER had a problem with it. And, i race it once a week. Real fun car to drive in that price range. Good luck.
love mine, only thing i don't like is the hatch squeeks something horrible ever since i dropped it
other than that
from me. .
price sounds kinda high, but it is from a dealer though. .. that's what i picked my 2000 up for a year and a half ago ...

Great all around car.
The aftermarket potential for Integra's is so wide open that you can pretty much do anything with them. Either all motor, turbo, supercharger, auto-x, street, drag, etc.

The one con not listed. It was a lease. Any friends of mine that have ever leased a car we make good and damn sure to thrash on it. Just not enough to break anything
. Granted not as bad as a rental. But make sure everything gets checked. I have a tendancy to drive a car I'm just going to give back a little harder then one I plan on keeping. Probably in great shape if it was some old guy.

My advice with lease returns, from working at a dealership for 4 years: take a look at the interior/exterior of the car. If the paint and interior look well taken-care of, chances are it was taken care of mechanically as well. If someone was just leasing the car so that they can thrash on it, then usually the car will physically reflect that. They won't take the time to wax it/condition the leather/etc. And yes the dealer will detail it before putting it on the lot, but there is only so much wear and tear you can cover up.

CON: Stock suspension handles like crap, and looks like 4x4
Honestly i love my gsr, but the handling really dissapoints me. But remember im talking about STOCK people. Im sure it'll be alot better after i get new Tein SS. Also on the teg, steering is a little squirmish.

If 13k is stretching your budget, I'd look into something a little older. Even a 98-99 GSR's should be in the $9-11k range. Also remember the insurance is really high with tegs. I was pricing out a 350Z with my insurance company and it's about $30 more a month than my integra. Anyway, I'd definately look around a little more. You can do better than that deal.

How many people do you know that don't change thier oil when they are supposed to? The reason people lease cars is so they don't have to maintain it the same way. Just like renting a house over buying one. A friend of mine was leasing a subaru 2.5rs for 2 years and even though it looked awesome and was in great shape the dealer didn't know it had a big *** turbo on it for a while amd was seriously ran through the mill. I'm not saying that is the case, I'm just saying have everything inspected.
