91 Integra LS 4 Dr Sedan---Need some help/advice
I am trying to get some help with my vehicle. I own a 1991 Acura Integra LS 4 Dr Automatic. Lately there have been a lot of things that I need to fix and/or replace. First it was my battery, fixed that. Next it was my brakes, in the process of fixing that. Next is my exhaust, I need a whole new system from my cat-back. I have always wanted to put after market performance parts on it, but I know it can get expensive real fast. I am trying to decide if I should pay to have just a normal exhaust put on or if I should go ahead and put a performance cat-back system on. Either way it seems like it will cost me anywhere from 300-500 dollars. One problem I am running in to is I am having difficulty locating a performance cat-back system for my car, being that it is 4 door. Also I am contemplating doing other things to it performance wise, what are your suggestions, I am thinking of spending roughly 2-3 grand on parts. I have even thought about buying a newer Integra or another vehicle that can become my project car. Please help me with your thoughts on my situation as a lot of you guys have a lot more experience with all of this. I am open for discussion. Thank you in advance and I hope everyone has a great day. One more thing, if you have any references, please pass them along. Thanks again!
Just buy a cat-back for a 2-door and have an exhaust shop add an extension to the pipe. That's basically what I did on my sedan. I just used a nice polished transverse muffler off of a civic and then built the rest. It's not worth spending in the money on a new OEM style setup if you're planning on going aftermarket anyhow.
Well, I can only tell you what I did with my 1989 LS as I had the same problem. I live in the SOuth so I just went to the junk yard and got all the pipes and muffler and pu tit on myself. Cost me under $50. The other alternative is to go the Autoparts store and buy the after market for under $100. Put it on yourself or pay another $50-100 to have some one do it. Then you could go performance for $300-500, but why bother on a 1991. I mean it is an older car, why try to make it new. I don't know if that is what you want to hear, bu thtose are my thoughts
