Default buying an accord need opinions

ok i'm buying this 1998 honda accord ex v6, auto, white from a company auction. i use to work for this company.

don't know how many miles but lets say average for a 98. cars been sitting in a parking lot for a while. some deep scratches in front and back bumper.

the car is listed for $10,500

what you think this car is worth and what amount should i start the bidding at?

i'm thinking i can get it for 3k. from last two auctions i've been to at this company only about 10 people show up to bid for cars.

thanks
Lo

anything unless than 5 grand is a steal if it's clean title.

i think kBB do decrease the value of a car if it's public own(rental, company car, etc)

for the year and model anythign under 5k would definately be a steal...but if it's been sitting in a lot somewhere for more that a year or so and no one started it up then some of the gaskets might have hardened and might need replacing

Go to http://www.kbb.com and do some checking into retail, wholesale values. This might give you a basis to help with your decision.

i have a 98 accord (manual) and i'd pay up to 7000 for it. you might have to replace minor things like gaskets and such but the car is a dream. mine is on 111000 and i'd imagine it will double that before i see it's first problem. it's worth every penny of 7000 but if you can get it for any cheaper do it. if you could get it for cheaper, you could spend the money you saved and paint it black

Default accord or focus

these auctions are held in mid town manhattan in an office building, i guess thats one of their headquarters. actually there are alot of car that you can get for a steal at this auction since not alot of people know about it kekeke. hint hint Central Parking , end of hint . lol

the car is in pretty good shape except for the scratches . overall almost brand new. and yes i am worried about that tranny issue, crossing my fingers this one doesn't have that problem.

i wish it was black, but the white actually looks pretty good. like pure white. i'm diggin it.

actually it was sitting in a big *** underground garage so its not that bad. garage is heated too lol. matter of fact i use to work at the same garage lol. but the guy who parked it last said it was a "good car and if the battery wasn't dead it would start right up."

my other choice is a 00 ford focus hatch. also white no body damage. listed for 4,800 pretty sure i can get it for 1g. what yall think accord or focus

ps.. check out edmunds and kbb price from 8k-10 with the damage(scratches)
