Default b16a2 with b18a oil pan

I have a b16 usdm that has a massive dent in the oil pan.
I am going to use a ls panth ls pick up.
I was wondering should i use the ls dip stick to correspond theamount of oil that needs to be in the pan?
Also any disadvantages in using a ls pickup?
