is a 91 sedan a good car?
i'd like to buy one to make into a sleeper. for drag use and some solo 2. i'm thinking maybe an ls/vtec b18 with a quick scroll turbo. if i could get some info from some owners that would be great thanks.
It's a pig but you could probably make it haul ***. It's just like a hatch or a crx but with more room//weight. Not to mention it has a longer wheelbase which would be good for drag racing.
i like for doors so thats why i want one. less weight then a newer civic and looks kinda like a crx if you only see it from the front.

i have a 91 sedan LX and I would not trade it for a hatch or a CRX piriod. Some day when I have enough money, i'm going to replace the rear seat with 8 12" subs!! I'm shooting for 10K watts (or 833 Amps!) with 5 Altinators!!!! it's one big project that will be so bad ***!!!
CAN ANY ONE SAY BROWN NOISE!!!

I've got a 90 sedan. My friend and I run SOLO2 in SM. It's a very, very competitive car and it's mostly suspension that's done it (b16 swap, but it's still underpowered...JRSC and LSD currently being installed
). Even with the longer wheelbase, it will take the twisties like any CRX or hatch. If I were you, I'd definitely get one. Not too many people have them and you should see the look on people's faces when we run faster times than them in a 4 door
Oh, with the rear seat out, no A/C, no P/S, front seatbelt motors removed, Sparco Sprint seats and 1/2 tank of gas, the car weighed in at 2243 lbs. Not too shabby. All in all, I'd say it's a good choice for autox.

It weighs about the same as a 92~95 Si hatch.

I have always wanted a EF 4-door for a beater to get around in, but I can never find one that is in good condition. I like it for the reason that nobody really has them, and I am one that likes to be different!
i love my 4 door. its a good car, just like a hatchback but with extra doors and a trunk. a lot more sleeperish also, ive had my 4 door for 2 years and not one person has even revved on me,

I prefer sedans over HB's or CRX's. I think the 4th gen sedan styling is great. Its such a good looking car. Another reason i like them, like mentioned before, theyre not nearly as common as HB's and CRX's.

Decent power on a budget, get a ZC. You can keep your a/c, and use stock mounts and tranny. Just get the basic bolt-ons and an Si tranny and you've got a pretty good little sleeper. - Darrell

awesome car. I have owned two of them. theyre pretty hard to find these days though.
the 88's are lighter (no re-inforcement beams in the doors) and a few other small details
my silver one (89) d16z6
my black one (88) d16a6 w/ bullfrog cam

the flat black one was an 88 , d16a6,cam,intake header exhaust, tons of weight reduction, a6 tranny, sjunk2 coilovers, tokico blue shocks, neuspeed strut bars, si front brakes...
it was fun lightweight, handled pretty well, moved well with the d16a6 ...i'm not in to drag racing, but the person i sold it to did a 15.4 1/4 mile
the silver one was an 89 w/ d16a6, intake , header, exhaust, vafc, .... generic coilovers stock brakes.. it was cool too, felt strong..... the d-series motors of course are lighter than b-series motors, so in a lightweight EF it feels really strong. I love EF's with D Motors , plus theyre cheap too
