I don't know if any of the parts are interchangeable. Maybe the check ***** or reverse or some minor thing like that. As far as gears or shift forks or differential no. Maybe some of the bearing are the same size.

yeah, main part between hydro and cable tranny's are not interchangeable, unless you own a ys1 gsr cable tranny(wich is cable, but has hydro internals)

all the tranny's that you listed are cable.

for what i recall you still have:
cable:
j1

hydro:
s80
y80
y21
s4c
s21

All I know is that a ys1 is either usdm 92-93 gsr, usdm 90-93 ls,gs,rs,etc, or jdm xsi??? Not sure about what jdm tranny it is but it's the same as the usdm 92-93 gsr.

I also believe the y1's are b16 trannys. Dont' quote me on that though because I could be wrong.

YS1 transmissians are essentially a hydraulic transmission minus a few differences....the "change holder" (selector) is designed differently and the shift forks are different. you can take the entire gear set out of a Hydro transmission and install it into a YS1 case without a problem....if you install a ITR LSD you will need to make a few minor modifications to the inside of the case to allow it to fit

and a YS1 gearset is a direct plug and play with any hydro case

Y1, S1 nad J1 are not campatible with hydro internals at al....i have heard of hydro internals being swaped into one of these cases with modifications to the housing but it takes a lot of precision and prior knowledge
