everything with the motor is all hooked up except the clutch cable throttle cable is hooked up along with hasport shiftlinkage and all that is needed to start the thing however when it starts it revs up to about 4000 rpm and it stays steady what do you think my problem could be it is a b16a1 in an 88 crx hf thanks for the help i need it trying to get this thing to the body shop and need to get the motor situated.

 

check your throttle cable... it sounds dumb but we put an h22 in my friends accord and when we started it up it was idling at about 3500 rpms and we adjusted the cable and its fine now, i guess someone had tightened it i dont know but thats what fixed it for us try that....

 

if that doesn't help check for vacuum leaks.
