Whenever i take off my tank cap my car hisses at me lol but i just wanted to know if this was normal or is my fuel pump going bad and im getting vapor lock because that would suck those things are a pain to put in

 

this is normal
your evap system is doing its job. if it is not hissing, chances are there is a leak and will fail delaware emmissions. fyi. that is if you lived in delaware.

 

you got a beast in your gas tank,be careful..

Try to loosen your fuel pump belt.

Haha no i know but was confused for a few seconds...i was like "wait no the water pump runs off the timing belt and the fuel pump is in the tank!"

the hissing is a very serious problem, next time you fill up pull the gas cap off then immediatly light your lighter where you hear the noise coming from.

but honestly, as you drive it builds up pressure and at the same time helps your fuel pump (or so im told) im also told that driving around without a gas cap will make your fuel pump ware quicker... could be a myth
