I am rebuilding by crvtec, I have the crank out and getting everyhting ballanced, I knowit seems dumb not to replace the main bearings, but the bottom end only has 40k miles, and its perfect, should I replace or not? why mess w/ a factory spec bearings, could mean trouble, is there a way or how could I get th same exact honda bearings at the same spec from a dealer? I noticed 2 of the main bearings are different than the others, dont want to mess up a perfect and REAL import area... purchased some ACL rod STD bearings, going to plastigauge everything but hopefully that should be okey as well... thanks..

ok, first. do not reply to your own post more than once a day. nobody is going to answer your question just because you bump it every 5 minuets.

and there are 2 ways to look at this.

1) are they damaged? any signs of wear? if they arent there really is no point replacing them.

2) the engine is apart, replace them and have the peace of mind they are new and factory.

yes a dealer will sell you new bearings, the exact thickness thats in there right now.

 

the dealer needs the code of the crank is what I was told, anyone know of this? and what info I must provide ..
