That's just a few. I'm sure there's more organizations that run there, like speedventures and such.

Make sure you read the rules for each organization, and that your car is in compliance with them before entering, so there aren't any
when you get there. Good Luck!

Every track has a calender of events. The one you need is:
http://www.buttonwillowraceway.com/
You can see on the calender who is hosting events. From there you need to find out how to sign up with the hosting body.
For example:

http://www.speedventures.net
Look around for "HPDE"

check often for scheduled buttonwillow events. You might also want to check out Willow Springs as well.

yeah, that event was run by speedtrialusa.com. i'm sure it's similar to the other organizations where there are different levels from beginner - intermediate - advanced. they also pay close attention to safety.
here's a link to the integra type-r forum thread for that day.

Webracing, what's your thought on the BW test days? A friend and I were thinking about going up there to get some practice. I like the flexibility and the price is not bad either.
I called the track and was told that some days there are as little as 7-8 cars whereas other days it's full, where he may have to split them into groups. Usually 2 corner workers. I would think that on a Friday before a race weekend, like NASA or SCCA, it must be pretty crowded.
I assume most drivers have a racing license, so I wonder what the amosphere is like on the track. Should I wait until I'm comfortable in TT and advanced HPDEs where passing is allowed anywhere before running this?

Most of the test days I've been to at Buttonwillow have seen very few cars. You're right that there will be more the day before a race weekend. There can be a big speed disparity between cars, depending upon who's out there. You should be very comfortable in the HPDE environment, as test days don't have the same no-passing rules. You'll get a ton of track time, however.
