engine will not fire just replaced the timeing belt
I just replaced my timing belt and I double checked my gears for proper alinment and the engine still won't fire up any suggestions. I'm kind of desperate
1st. does it crank over? if so then at least your not banging valves
2nd. is your spark plug wire order correct?

I don't see too many possibilites here.
You probably didn't take off the spark plug wires because you really don't need to when you do a belt change so I don't think they are in the wrong order.
I can only imagine that you didn't put the belt on properly
OR
you forgot that little ground wire that goes from the radiator support (next to the headlight) to the engine.
I don't think that ground wire would prevent the car from starting up, but you never know.

If this wire isnt there, the car wont even crank over. My old stock one snapped (old and brittle) when I backed out of the driveway and then I stalled it and it wouldnt start back up. Replaced it and it fired right up!

it is a D16A6 yes it cranks over it had spark before I replaced the belt it also fired up but felt like it lost a cylinder or 2 before i removed the belt I noticed it was streched out thats why I replaced it and now it does not fire but still cranks over and I did not adjust the distributor but I think it should still work.
that as much info as I can give

These belts don't stretch! they will break before stretching. How do you know it stretched. Did you measure it against the new one or found it loose when removing it. If you found it loose then you have other problems( like a bad tensioner). Depending on how loose it was and if it slipped the valves may be bent.

I have oil in the coolent oil on the plugs and a freind of mine said there is a lose of compression in the 1st cylinder and I noticed the oil was low and plus the rotor under the distributor cap lost its screw so I think my engine is just gone, but it does not sound like the pistons are smacking the valves
