What engine swaps can i find at the junkyard?
They never have any of the japanese motors, so what comes in a USDM car that i can go grab at the junkyard? Im looking for a dohc non vtec motor. I already know i could get a d16a6 fairly easy around here, but i want a dohc motor if possible. Anyone in north texas/dfw area that knows a good source?
u can get a zc (dohc non vtec) come outa older tegs, but the most motors that i see at junkyards are ls motors (integra), they r good toruqe, low compression, turbo ready! but ive been to a juunkyard that they pull all the motors and u have to buy the motor fom them, but they want way to much and trans is extra
What year of integra, because i hear the 88's dont bolt in... gotta do some fabrication for the mounts.
I was looking for something i could go pull, set it up in my garage, make it like new then drop it in sometime in the future. I dont wanna pay shipping from japan. I want an engine that bolts in, that will take only minor work to make it run in my 88 hatch.,

you can get any integra motor from basically 1990 up. they are all b18a/b's dohc non vtec motors. however it will not be a bolt in affair you will need new motor mounts axles and shift linkage.

The D16a1 needs a driver side engine mount modded to fit, and if you want complete bolt-in..... then there's no other USDM engine that you can even consider that's DOHC.
Why not just do a d16a6 or a z6 swap?
Your best bet is to talk to Honda-Heaven for the ZC since you don't want to pay shipping....no junkyards around here really have what you're looking for except them. Or you could always just call up all the import shops and see what they have in stock.

If you want close to bolt in you want anything D series or ZC which ZC can be SOHC or DOHC, If you want minimal DOHC swap you want 90-93 teg (ODB 0) LS no Vtec to wire, GSR or ITR Vtec to wire with all of these your car will still handle fairly well in turns, H22 is a monster a lot of fab work to be done and it has a little more trouble getting around turn but straight line speed is awesome, so it is really your choice, chose wisely grasshopper.....
Look for someone trying to get out from under there motor to swap something else into there car and pick up a cheap D series or LS motor

I am being "told" online by a cat in Florida that he has run across a 88 crx si with a h22. He claims that the head gasket is gone, but I am trying to understand how it is selling for the $250.00 he is asking for. I am cautious about this because he is a private owner, and it sounds way to cheap for such a sick swap.

agree with him
and the only thing I seen at the junkyards are the 87-89 integra d16(usdm ZC motor) or the 90-93 integra if u are lucky not any newer then that
and some 92-95 SOHC engines so what still there missing a grip of **** though
