Default Testing the Waters: JDM Maxim Works Header

Hello all. I'm thinking about selling my stupid expensive header. In this case, it's a header from a company called Maxim works, which no one seems to know anything about. The header is of amazing quality, with CNC machined flanges, no restrictions, and welds so perfect they make other high dollar headers I've seen look pretty bad. The header itself is far from new, however is in perfect functional condition. The only maladies you may find are a few knicks and scratches, lots of discoloration (typical of stainless) and a weld between the flange and the runner on cylinder number one to repair a hairline crack that was present when I bought the header. The header came off of a JDM ITR swap at JDMtheory before Geoff sold it to me for an undisclosed amount of money. It is now currently in my friend Tony's hatch (we don't have dyno sheets, but there was a notable gain on the butt dyno). I just got an apartment and need to furnish it with a couch, an entertainment center, and lots of Jack Daniel's so I need to get rid of a few things. I'm still unsure as to whether I'm going to sell this one particular item or not, but if I get an acceptable offer, then I'll be more than willing to part with it. For reference sake, this header costs well over $1000 when new. I figured I'd test the waters here in the ITR forum being that it was made for an ITR.

Like Jun, FEEL's (Honda Twincam), AutoEXE...Ben (AJPwR) or Spikey might be able to confirm this, but aren't Mugen headers also made by them?

That's an ongoing rumor, however there is equal (if not greater) belief that Mugen makes their headers themselves. Maxim Works does make a lot of headers for other companies though, this I'm sure of.

Mugen designs and makes them in-house. I have been fortunate enough to see them being built with my own two hazel eyes.
Though I do believe Mugen did source a low volume application out to Maxim Works, possibly a H22 application. Not 100% on that. Anyway, I think that is where the whole Maxim Works builds Mugen headers thing came from.

Kendall - What is the design of the header? The only one I have actually seen branded as Maxim Works (not that there aren't more) is the Jun/Feel's 421 header.

Good luck!

I have read in several places that Jun and FEEL's are made by Maxim Works. The only reference to Mugen I have seen was here:

http://homepage2.nifty.com/yat....html

</TD></TR></TABLE>

So perhaps just the H22A header that is made by Maxim Works (for Mugen)?

It's a 4-2-1 design, and is very similar to the JUN headers I've seen in the past.
