Crx hf swap BEWARE...oOoOOOOooO
So i found out today that.....DUH the Hf has more bits and pieces wrong with it then the swap in a dx or the Si.
So the Hf, in my case 90, came with some pretty tiny *** hubs b/c they didn't need all that monsterous 62 hp running to the wheels, so they made the hubs 1/8" smaller, by my count, then the dx and si. So what's that mean when swaping a B16a into an Hf...about 400$ more for the whole front upper arm and joint, b/c low and behold the spindles don't match/nor fit, they are to fat.
Well, i need to go ***** myself out and catch up and make 400$ in one night to get my intermediate drive shaft and all the outboard cvs matched up with the right hubs. And unless we are rich we don't have a hydro press and can't just swap a sealed bearing and the right hub on both sides, so i'm having them bill me for the whole assembly.
anyone else run into this. Silly 62 hp beast....

p.s this is a really late post and i'm so paying attention to something else, i won't remember writing this...Gf: "Get off the computer and get off on me"

usually these can be had for cheap from the junkyard. just take em off any non 4 speed civic/crx or non hf's.
whenever i get motors from a engine importer and i know im gonna need em, they have alot of these laying around and if your lucky they throw em in for free.

You can take any knuckle ( spindle ) from an 88-91 civic dx,or ex. Or from an 88-91 crx dx, or si. You shouldn't need the upper or lower control arms, just swap out the knuckles.
i know i just want to upgrade to the bigger hub and rotor and caliper set, might as well make use of the swap and get OEM better brakes, got some extra lbs to slow down now...

Well get some Knuckles from a 90-93 integra (i think they are 10.2" rotors compared to 9.5" on a si ) then you will have bigger brakes and calipers. You can find them fairly cheap at a junkyard.

stop crying.
all you need to do is swap out the spindles/hubs/calipers (the knuckle assembly) and the axles (which you'll probably end up doing on a si or dx) unless you wanted to stay with the dinky little rotors. why not upgrade to 10.5' ? as for the axles, custom again unless your motor isn't planning on seeing that much HP.
rear trailing arms will have to be swapped out aswell for disc ONLY if you want better braking.
IMO, i was going to be upgrading all the stuff anyway so i went with the whopping 62hp HF, besides it comes weight reduced from factory !!

ahhh, don't feel too bad.
When I first did my swap with a ZC into my 88 Si I found out that the axles don't fit either(89 Teggy ones).
Live and learn, but then again I did not have this H-T on hand to assist.

You should have done your homework.
Do a search and you will see how many times it's been covered that you need to swap out the knuckles when doing swaps in the HF.

A little more research will show you that the HF harness has a couple of things that you don't need. You will neet to cut the wire at B9 and B11 on the ECU plug. B9 tells the ECU the tranny is in reverse and B11 tells the ECU the clutch is disengaged. This is "HF only" stuff and will freek out other ECU's. I had to do this with my LS swap and PR4 ECU to get the check engine light to go out.
