Default Holy $hit, my inner timing belt cover warp and melt?

I was taking apart the valve cover to do my valve lash adjustment yesterday. There were some leak last time due to me being stupid and not torque the bolt to spec and use gasket dresser (hondabond) to seal everything, so there were oil leak at the valve cover gasket. What I didn't know is this:

Check out the inner cover, it is not flush with the block as it suppose to be:

It is warpped to a point that the cover is grinding against the cam gear, and if it grind further it could get in the gear and siege the motor while driving, scary:

Does anyone think this is due to oil leak? My car is running bone stoke, except my timing is advanced in my LS auto.

Any thought?

I don't think that is from the leak. I would say it got tweaked last time you put it back together and it was rubbing.

That's what I though originally too. However, the outer edge fit perfectly with the valve cover and the outter timing belt cover, only the rubbing part "bent" inward.

It just seems wierd and hard to explain.

ahh no where near as bad as mine. apparently my driver side upper mount stripped 2 out of the 3 bolts from their holes and caused the motor to sag down a bit.

the out cover was kinda melted and deformed from the mount forced against it. anyways, i trimmed a lil bit and used a dremel to smooth **** out. as long as its not in contact with the belt/gear you should be fine
